THINGS STUDENTS CAN LEARN
DURING QUARANTINE
Indian government has declared locked down for 21 days due to pandemic of COVID-19. Thinking about what to do during these days?
As per Neuro Linguistic Programming it takes 21days to physically adapt with the new thinking pattern, habit or behaviour. So let's use this opportunity to learn some new things. Following ideas will surely help you to spend your time during this quarantine
Learn Self Discipline
Self discipline can also be explained as self control. It means doing something which is necessary in your life even though you don't wish to do it. You can try to adopt such habits which are necessary for the betterment of your life.
E.g. Developing positive attitude, Read for half an hour in a day, Waking up at right time daily, Staying at home during the locked down(It also requires self discipline π) etc.
Do Yoga exercises & Meditation
Physical as well as mental well being is necessary for the person to lead a happy life. Performing some easy yogic exercises daily will not only boost up your energy level but will also refresh your mood. Try practising meditation along with physical exercises. It will help you in stress management. It will also help you to increase your concentration level.
Read/Watch Informative & Inspiring Books/Videos
There's a great saying in marathi ΰ€΅ाΰ€ाΰ€² ΰ€€ΰ€° ΰ€΅ाΰ€ाΰ€².. It means if you read(gain knowledge through reading) it'll save you in many ways. Reading some good books helps us to learn and understand different aspects of particular topic. It helps to Expand our vocabulary, knowledge and thinking skills.
Many Students don't like to read from a book, if you are one of them you can listen to informative/inspirational audio book or watch video which are available on internet. You can also share/discuss it with other family members.
You can learn some basics(theory) from your school computer textbook and practice(practical) it in your personal computer or laptop. If you don't have it simply learn it through YouTube in your mobile phone.
Take out some time for your Hobby.
It's a great time to prioritise your passion. Before you work on it You must first identity your hobby. Take out some time to do what you love, it'll make you feel happy π
Write about anything in any language
Any Language is a way of conveying our thoughts to others. When you write on any topic, it stimulates your brain to think and analyse it. It builds up your own different perspective about that particular thing. Writing will also develop your thinking skills so start writing during this vacation.
Recite tables/squares/cubes & maths basic formulae which you learnt in past years.
Dear Students don't make yourself feel like you don't need to study when there is no exam. Whatever we learn during one academic year is always useful in the next. Since it's a very long vacation make sure you don't lose the track of studies. Especially in maths try to recite formulae, tables, properties etc. which we use frequently.
Plant a kitchen garden.
It's quite different than the other activities discussed here. But it's so effective when you want to spend a lot of time. All you need to do is sow some seeds of various fruits n vegetables in a soil in a paper cup.. Water it regularly and watch them grow daily. It not only helps children to explore the biology of plants but also teaches them to take care of a living thing(nature π)
Set goals & get organised.
Last but not the least.. Indeed a very important thing is to learn to set our goal and achieve it stepwise. Students you can note down your goals(of 1year) on a paper. These goals may be related to curriculum, fitness, self development, family, extra curriculum etc. Prepare an action plan(how you are going to achieve it) and start working on it without giving up.
